Who we are
Golden Thread Tales publishes the Golden Threads of Inspiration series and operates this website at goldenthreadtales.com. If you have any questions about this policy or your data, contact us at hello@goldenthreadtales.com or through the contact page.
What we collect and why
We keep data collection to the minimum needed to run the site and reply to you.
- Contact forms. When you send an enquiry, we receive the details you enter, such as your name, email address, organisation and message. We use these only to reply to you and to keep a record of our correspondence.
- Readers list. Our newsletter is run on Substack. When you subscribe, your email address is held by Substack and used to send you the letters you signed up for. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email, and Substack’s own privacy policy applies to the data it holds.
- Purchases. Books are sold through third party retailers such as Amazon, Waterstones, Foyles and Ingram. We never see or store your payment details. Each retailer’s own privacy policy applies to purchases made with them.
- Website analytics and cookies. The site uses cookies required for it to function, and basic analytics that help us understand which pages are useful. Where non essential cookies are used, you can decline them without losing access to the site.
Children
Our books are written for children, but this website is intended for parents, carers, teachers and other adults. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has sent us their details, contact us and we will delete them.
Who we share data with
We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with advertisers. Your data is only handled by the services that make the site work: our website host, our email provider, Substack for the readers list, and Cloudflare Turnstile for spam protection on our forms.
How long we keep it
Enquiry emails are kept for as long as needed to handle your enquiry and for a reasonable period afterwards for reference, after which they are deleted. Readers list data is held for as long as you remain subscribed.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email hello@goldenthreadtales.com and we will respond within one month. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle data, we will update this page and the date at the top.
